Boulder Blows Up Prairie Dogs?!

Thanks to Ernie Snyder & the Rodenator, Boulder prairie dogs are literally being blown up.
To me this seems like a cruel way to get rid of the little guys. Yes they are a problem and nuisance but there has to be a better way to get rid of them.
Thanks for reading.

Longmont's 2010 Cartoon Map Is Here!

This is the best one yet! Thanks to a spectacular Times-Call sales team, the Longmont Cartoon Map was a great success. This is one of the best pieces I have worked on to date. But wait there is more... It's also animated. Check out this link and go visit Lonmont, the Animated Cartoon Map. http://timescall.com/cartoon_map/

Those Poor Frozen Prairie Dogs!

I see both sides to the prairie dog situation. They needed to be removed from the Vance Brand Airport or they would loose major money. The way the city went about it is pretty good. Sure they could have had a prairie dog "pop" off and had a contest for the person who shot the most. This would have upset the pro prairie dog crowd, who want to save them and let them free, no matter what the cost. Could the city have done this cheaper? Sure, but I feel they did a good job of compromising a sensitive matter. Now the prairie dogs are removed, dead yes, but as humanly as possible and they will be used to help feed birds of prey in captivity. (Lets face it, that's part of what prairie dogs are used for in the wild anyway.) I think the city nailed it. Good job guys.

12 Days of Christmas - Longmont Style

I felt this was perfect to have Longmont's very own caroling prairie dogs bring this song to you.
I did have some help with this one. Now go around town signing the tune.

Does Vance Brand Municipal Airport Need FAA Funding?

Who knew that prairie dogs can dig under fences? Uh..... Everyone!
In my head, I see a prairie dog chained to the fence that was made to keep them out holding a sign that says "Hell No We Wont Go!"

I wounder how does it feel to be out smarted by a rodent?

Pot Holes & Prairie Dogs

There has been so much negativity towards the poor little prairie dog. We need to pull together and help these poor plague infested vermin. We need to see them for the good that they could do. Let's not cast them away, but embrace there special abilities... or we could just shoot em. (seriously, don't shoot them)

Other Silo ideas.

A giant Oskar Blues Beer can will be a great landmark. Is it what Longmont wants to be at the south west entrance to town? "Welcome to Longmont, we party!" Anyway... I came up with over 20 other possibilities that the silo building could be turned into. These 10 are the best REJECTED ones.

This cartoon didn't get published. I guess Vance Brand Municipal Airport does not have a tower.
Ooops! At least (as far as I know) I didn't miss-spell anything. Let me know if I did. My family is all over the place with prairie dogs. I have been invited on shoots by one side, my daughter thinks they are cute. (I got to admit, they are.) I even understand why horse people are not in favor of them. Folks from out east, think they are great, just because they don't have them. Maybe we should ship them out there.

Birth Control For Prairie Dogs!

I don't think prairie dog shoots are the most humane way to control their population. We should not make a contest or sport out killing. Ahh, but what do I know. Disagree? Let me know.
