Call me kookey, but how can one man lead both the Police Department and the Fire Department. Will it really "save" tax payers money? What about the extra hours of miss communication between the divisions. Also, can the Fire Department trust that Butler has their best interests at heart. I am sure that he's a good man, but a discouraged department might not think so.

After reading the insert about the Longmont Humane Society's new Allen Center in the Times-Call Special section, I felt that it was the nicest place. What animal would not want to sit, stay, and spay at the new modern facility. I also thought animal control officers would be overwhelmed with eager animals trying to get into the building.
